It is February and
we have ended a very busy month of praising God and celebrating the many blessings that He alone can and does
provide. Thank You Lord!!!
February began
with the continuing growth of The Family of God here at Englewood East. January 1st Sandra Meeker
placed her membership, January 8th Linda Ewing was immersed into Jesus Christ and received the
Gift of the Holy Spirit, as did Pat Stedman and Mary Sprague on January 15th. We welcome all of
our new sisters in Christ and Praise Jesus for His continuing
Love and Blessings.
January 15th Dedication Sunday Celebration was awesome There were 225 in attendance for
morning service which was followed with pot luck. (we need to build a fellowship hall as we have out grown the
light house for our meals) After noon celebration there was another 45/50 people who attended (afternoon count
115) making a total of approx 275 in attendance for the celebration.
Morning message was given by Dr. Jim Spinnati, world traveling evangilist
from Pennsylvania. Sunday School was taught by Clinton Daniels dear friend and preacher from Pikeville, KY.
Special music presented by The Carroll Sisters (Johnnie Haas, Von
Hagerty, Trisha Pritchett, Helen Evans, Sheron Carroll, Jo Carroll), Hodges Quartet (Jerry Hodges, Linda Plank, Johnnie Haas, Barry Ryser),
Bowers Quartet (Harold & Susan Bowers, Johnnie Haas, Barry
Ryser) and Jim Mason vocalist and his guitar.
Each and every
person who helped with this day of celebration are Angels sent from heaven to glorify The Lord and did a
wonderful job.
If you could not
attend this celebration you can see parts of it on the web page: engchurch.com
God is soooo Gooood and
soooo Awesome, Thank You Jesus.
Handfuls of
Purpose had January distribution the 21st with 59 families,
total of 218 people receiving food and the essentials that we are able to provide. This total count includes the Back Pack Program. February 18th distribution starts the 4th year of this very blessed
ministry. A ministry that has brought great joy and fullfilment to all of those involved,
no matter how they may serve or receive its blessings. This is a ministry that is
God guided, built on Gods Word and what He tells us in His Word, “The Bible”
May God continue to bless it and everyone involved this year and in the years ahead.
February
Ladies Luncheon is Saturday the 11th at the church. Bring your favorite salad to share, invite a
friend and join the Ladies for this always enjoyable and uplifting luncheon.
The month ended with 5th Sunday Singspiration at Murdock Christian Church. There was a
standing room only crowd, and great celebration and praising of Jesus. There was no fellowship after as they had
fellowship before the Singspiration. This was a big change as we all have always enjoyed the after singspriation
fellowship and food, but as they say change is good sometimes.
Ken, is doing a wonderful job in his ministry of serving the
Lord. The web page and Facebook are always up to date with videos and pictures of sermons, music and other
activities that are happening or coming up here at Englewood East. His Sunday morning Live Streaming of the
morning service over the web, dedication to the sound system and all that you do. Thank you Ken and May God
continue to bless you for your commitment to Jesus.
We have such
blessed studies, Jim teaching Peter on Sunday and Ephesians on Wednesday and Syl teaching Hebrews and Mark on
Fridays in home study groups. Bill giving advise and guidance by just picking up the phone and being there for
us.
Thank you,
all three of you, for your dedication and commitment to serve and Honor Jesus by speaking to us through the Holy
Spirit. It is through you that we continue to grow as Christians and come closer to God as we learn and
understand His Word. Praise God!!!!
I am going
to sign off for now and go to the Bible for study and
guidance.
Until next
month GOD BLESS
